The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) revised its previous advisory dated 30th March 2020, extending the validity of documents expiring after 1st February 2020 by a month. Drivers Licenses and fitness certificates that expired after 1st February 2020 will continue to be valid until 31st July 2020.
With several RTOs closed and others operating at limited capacity, MoRTH also extended the validity of payment made by applicants for fitness tests, renewal of fitness certificate and obtaining new or renewed driving licences to 31st July, 2020, while waving off any additional or late fees for such delays.
This should come as a respite for truck owners who get more time to focus on recovering from severe shortage of load and drivers in the face of the lockdown.
