Himachal Govt. Exempts Public Service Vehicles from Paying Token and Special Road Tax Tax

The Government of Himachal Pradesh has exempted all public services vehicles, including goods vehicles from paying Token and Special Road Tax for 4 months, w.e.f. 01-04-2020 to 31-07-2020.

As per the notification:

“In order to provide financial relief to the Transporters, the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, in exercise of power conferred under Section 14(3) of Himachal Pradesh Motor Vehicle Taxation Act, 1972, is pleased to exempt Public Service Vehicles, Goods Vehicles, Education Institutional Buses and Private Service Vehicles from payment of Token Tax and Special Road Tax 

Taxes for the month of March, 2020 shall be payable alongwith the taxes for the month of August, 2020, if earlier not paid by treating non-operational days during lockdown period w.e.f. 21-03-2020 to 31-03-2020 compensated in the above exempted period. “

The Government has also waived off penalties relating to late renewal of permits due to delay on account of covid-19 during the lockdown period.
